Every writer dreams of making a living with their words.  But how exactly do writers make money?

My mentor used to say, there are 100,000 ways to make $100,000.

While, that's probably true, here are my top 2 ways to make money with your writing?

1. Write a book that generates leads and new clients for your business
2. Write multiple books and generate passive income from the royalties

Which method speaks to you?

This is NOT a right or wrong answer.  It's more about who you are, what your goals are and where you are in your life.

If you have lots of time on your hands and you love the creative process and want to generate passive income, then writing multiple books would be a good choice for you.

On the other hand, if you own any type of business and you are short on time, and you'd like to generate new leads for your business, then writing one book, would be perfect for you.

I've actually used both methods and I love them both!  I have books that generate new clients for my business and I have dozens of books that generate passive income.

Most business owners don't want to “learn” how to write, publish and launch books to the bestsellers list…they are short on time and want an expert to do that for them. That's why I created my done for you bestselling author program in 2005 and to date I've helped over 500 clients write a book that generates new leads and grows their business and their credibility.

Then in 2020, I read an article on Written Word Media that said the average author who makes 6 figures has 28 books in their catalogue.  That's when I decided to write one short book a month to test this out.  After 12 month, I created $3335/mo in passive income and it changed my life!

If you would like to write short book a month like I did, and create passive income, here are the 12 steps to follow:

1. Find a high profit topic that is in high demand.  I use publisher rocket to do my research.
2. Do a mind dump and create a working outline using ChatGPT.
3. Write your book in 3 hour hyper-focused blocks of time.  Get your book done in 2-5 days.
4. Have your book professionally edited and formatted.
5. Design a winning cover (you must pay a designer to do this unless you have great design skills).
6. Write a book description that sells your book. Select the right keywords and categories.
7. Self publish on Amazon KDP
8. Get 5 reviews
9. Do a 2-day book launch to get on multiple bestsellers lists. (Use social media, your email list if you have one and hire book promoters like Robin Reads)
10. Run Amazon Ads to keep your book a bestseller.
11. Rinse and Repeat
12. Celebrate!

I believe everyone has a book or books inside of them.
