Welcome to the Amazon Bestselling Author Program!  I’m excited to be working with you!

Below is the Author Agreement for you to review.  I put this together so my clients would know what to expect from me and also what I need from you during our time together.

My goal is to help you become a #1 bestselling author and to assist you in launching a high quality book that changes lives!

The terms of this agreement are as follows:

• Michelle (Kulp) guarantees to get the client’s book (YOU!) to the #1 bestsellers list on Amazon through a 2-day book launch that typically happens within the next 8-12 weeks.  Michelle has a few different launch strategies which she will talk to you about once you are a client.
• Michelle will provide 30-minute weekly coaching calls with the client to prepare for the book launch.  The directions for setting up the calls are on the welcome email.
• The program is approximately 8-12 weeks long.  (If you’re in the Silver Package, it’s typically 4-6 weeks because we don’t have to get the book ready for publishing).  During that time will be working on the 3 phases of a book launch:
  1. The Pre-Launch (getting the foundation of the book ready for the launch)
  2. The Launch (getting the book to the #1 bestsellers list)
  3. The Post-Launch (Media Interview, Amazon ads and training to leverage your bestseller status)
• Once the book becomes a #1 bestseller, Michelle will set the client up with two media interviews, as well as update the book cover with the bestseller logo and submit to Amazon in client’s account.
• Michelle partners with high level book promoters with large email lists during the 2-day launch to get maximum exposure for your book; she also uses her own email lists and social media.  Your book will be exposed large audiences with thousands of members, subscribers and visitors.
• If your book is not yet published on Amazon, Michelle will be publishing under the client’s account and does not receive any royalties from the client’s book.
• Michelle needs access to Client’s Amazon Kindle Direct Publishing (KDP) account; if you don’t currently have one, then you’ll be setting that up during our time together in this program.  Michelle uses a password manager so your login will be safe and secure.
• Client will have membership in Michelle’s private Amazon Bestseller Facebook group. *See welcome email for more details.
• Client agrees to provide Michelle with the necessary materials to do the book launch as well as to get at least 5-10 reviews prior to the 2-day book launch.  Some of the items needed are logins for KDP and Author Central (bio page); the final book cover for kindle and print; headshot of the author(s); the edited manuscript and any other supporting materials we need to do a proper book launch. *Note some packages include editing and book covers.
• If your book is not written yet and you subsequently submit that to Michelle after joining the program; Michelle reserves the right to accept or reject the manuscript based on the quality of the content.  If Michelle feels the submitted manuscript needs further work to be publishable, then she will refer you to a developmental editor that can work with you at an additional cost to you.
• This program is a maximum of 12 weeks long and the client is required to get the manuscript and necessary materials and information to Michelle and her team so client’s book can be published and launched.  NOTE:  If the client fails to get said materials to Michelle during this 12 week period, then the client forfeits all monies paid to Michelle.  Unless, however, Michelle agrees in writing to an extension for the client.  Said extension will be no longer than an additional 12 weeks.  After that extension, if Michelle does still not have a publishable manuscript from the client, the program is considered to be completed, client forfeits all monies paid and if they wish to contract with Michelle for the book at a later time, they will need to purchase said package again.
• Michelle is an independent contractor and shall not be considered nor hold herself out as an employee, partner, joint venture, or an agent of the Client.
• Michelle acknowledges that the client keeps and maintains full rights of their book and that it is their original material.
• Michelle agrees to treat the information about the book as proprietary and confidential information of the client’s, and shall not disclose the information to any other person or entity except as authorized, and shall safeguard the information at least to the same extent that it would her own proprietary and confidential information.
• Michelle cannot and does not guarantee any specific number of sales from the book launch as every book is unique.  The market determines sales.
• Michelle will be doing a two-stage launch.  Stage one is to get to #1 on the Free Bestsellers list.  Stage two is to get to the paid bestsellers list. Typically these lists have 100 books on them.  You will be receiving some training prior to the launch explaining how this works.  The goal is to get your book on the paid bestsellers list and starting with the free list and getting to #1 on that list starts the process.
• Michelle cannot say how long a book will remain on a bestsellers list as the market determines that, however, many of Michelle’s clients books have remained on the bestsellers lists for several weeks, months and some of her client’s books have been on the bestsellers list for over 6 years following the book launch.  Every book is different and unique and Michelle does not guarantee a specific time for the book to stay on any bestsellers list because of this.
• Michelle has various packages which include different services which you received after your call with Michelle.  The services included are all listed on the package you signed up for and for which you have a copy of the brochure.
• If the book launch is in the next 30 days, then all fees are due upon sign up.  If the book launch is more than 30 days out, then you can pay 50% now and the balance will be due 30 days prior to the launch date (which we will establish once the book is uploaded on Amazon and set up with reviews); the final payment is always due 30 days prior to the book launch.
• There are no refunds under this agreement as outlined here; except if Michelle is unable to get the book to the bestsellers list as stated above.
